CAGG Volunteer and Public Welfare Branch 2024 Academic Annual Meeting and the 2nd Older Adults-oriented Volunteer and Public Welfare Academic Forum (1st round notice)
To build a modern socialist country in an all-round way and promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Under the guidance of the China Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics and the Institute of Population Research of Peking University, the Volunteer and Charity Branch (CAGG)and the Institute of Ageing Studies (PKU) plan to jointly hold the Volunteer and Public Welfare Branch 2024 Academic Annual Meeting and the 2nd Older Adults-oriented Volunteer and Public Welfare Academic Forum on Aging on December 7th, 2024. Outstanding practice cases and academic papers in the field are now solicited from personnel and researchers engaged in voluntary service and public welfare undertakings. To promote the academic influence of volunteerism and public welfare, and actively integrate cutting-edge academic achievements, this annual academic conference, with its advantages of multi-discipline, interdisciplinary, multi-level and multi-structure, provides a platform for communication and learning for institutions and organizations in the field of public welfare and voluntary service in China, and jointly explore new strategies to cope with population aging. To promote the development of volunteer and public service career in aging China. The 2024 Academic Annual Meeting of the Volunteer and Public Welfare Branch will be held in parallel with the Academic Forum on Older adults-oriented Volunteer public welfare, and the content will include three major sections: expert keynote speeches, roundtable discussions and oral presentations. The following are the draft rules of the Annual Conference Forum:
ⅡCollection of practical cases
1. Description of case collection activities
The purpose of this practice case collection activity is to collect the report of social practice activities participated in personally and the case results obtained through the visit and investigation. The materials accepted in the solicitation include written reports (practice cases and new media communication plans) and photographic records (videos and images). Authors participating in the collection are required to upload their works via Baidu web disk, and send the link of their works (note that it is the link of web disk here, not the original work) to the designated email address “pkuovspwf2024@ageingandwellbeing.org” according to the title of the email “Academic Collection Direction + First author organization”. When sending an email, please be sure to clearly mark “Case collection direction + author unit” in the subject line of the email (for example: Case collection direction 1+ Peking University).

3. Form of case works collection
(1) Practical cases and new media communication schemes. Manuscript unified electronic document word file format. The title of the paper is No. 3 in bold, and the rest are No. 5 in Song. The paper should be no more than 5,000 words (English) or 10,000 words (Chinese), 1.5 times space, A4 paper layout.
(2) Video, image. The photographic or image manuscript shall be in JPG format of electronic document with clear image quality and no watermark. Each picture shall be no less than 3MB in principle and shall be sent to the email address of the conference Organizing Committee in the form of compressed package. The length of the video manuscript shall not exceed 7 minutes, the resolution shall be 720P or above, the format shall be subject to MP4, and the shooting equipment is not limited. Please upload the video to Baidu cloud disk and set the sharing date as permanent, and post the sharing link in the body of the email.
Ⅲ. Collection of academic papers
1. Instructions for soliciting academic papers
(1) Word count of the paper: no less than 8,000 words (Chinese) or no less than 5,000 words (English).
At the time of submitting a paper, all authors must sign a Copyright Form, which can be accessed via the link provided or the “Read original” option at the end of the paper. This means that the authors agree to use their abstracts for presentation and compilation by the Organizing Committee of the Forum. At the same time, the author should explicitly declare the Disclosure of Interest in the body of the submission and must submit the ICMJ Disclosure of Interest Form as an email attachment, which can also be linked to by “Read the original” at the end of the submission.
Manuscripts of research papers containing personally identifiable human data or human tissue must be accompanied by documentation of ethical approval and informed consent (even where there is an exemption from informed consent), and clearly indicate the name of the ethics committee approving the research and its reference number, if applicable. Papers involving animal research are also required to provide a corresponding ethical review statement. In particular, for studies involving clinical trials, the clinical trial Registration number (TRN) and registration date should be appended to the abstract. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
(2) The submitted paper must not have been published in an open academic journal or communicated at other academic conferences. Within the selected reference area, contributors should write detailed and detailed manuscripts with specific topics according to their own research expertise and the practice in different regions.
(3) The title of the paper should be clear and targeted: it should combine theory with practice and be supported by facts and figures; Avoid empty content and unsubstantiated comments; Do not substitute conference papers or work summaries for academic papers; The Organizing Committee encourages the submission of problem-oriented, truth-reflecting, field research reports with data and analysis and innovative viewpoints, case studies, and papers and other forms of manuscripts that can reflect the innovation of work and theory in the new era.
(4) No matter the first round or the final round of works, please send them to the designated email pkuovspwf2024@ageingandwellbeing.org according to “Academic Solicitation direction + first author organization”. For example: Voluntary public welfare and aging social governance + Peking University (one paper set up a file name).

3. Form of collection of academic papers
(1) Academic papers: This forum requires the final submission of the full text (in Chinese or English), and is an unpublished research, submission format reference to the journal of Population and Development. Chinese papers must also submit quality English abstracts (with title, abstract, author information, etc.) with author names spelled in APA citation format, i.e. “FirstName·FamilyName”.
(2) Academic poster: Poster types are allowed in this forum, but you must send complete abstract and full text of your paper in both Chinese and English to the designated mailbox in accordance with the requirements of this paper call. After accepting the admission issued by the organizing committee of the Forum, you must design your own poster (the committee will release the poster template in advance, and the poster should refer to the general academic conference poster standard, that is, A0 size. After presenting the basic information of the paper and the information of the sender), the paper will be delivered to the organizing committee, and the organizing committee will uniformly display it at the conference site. No special presentation of posters will be arranged, only for communication during the break.
Ⅳ. Collection time and work review
1. The first round of solicitation will be on November 24 (Academic paper submissions need to submit abstract in both Chinese and English)
2. The final round of solicitation will be on December 1 (the first round of academic abstracts need to submit the full text of the paper)
Ⅴ. Award setting
After the deadline, the organizing committee will summarize and classify all the works. A review committee composed of authoritative experts in the field identified by the society is responsible for the review of the papers. The award winning papers will be published in the Conference Abstract Book, which will be accompanied by the relevant ISBN and DOI, and will be indexed by Google Academics. Abstracts are not considered pre-publication, so authors are free to publish the full text later in any academic journal, but authors are advised to indicate attendance at the meeting and that the abstract has been included in the abstracts collection. Papers of higher quality that did not participate in the presentation will also be invited to be included in the abstract collection. The abstracts of this forum will not exceed 30 abstracts.
1.Based on the collection of practical cases, the Organizing Committee will award:

(2) 3 second prizes;
(3) 6 third prizes.
2.Based on the collection of academic papers, the Organizing Committee will award:
(1) Oral presentations: 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes;
(2) Academic posters: 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes.
For the excellent works selected by this conference, the organizer will issue the award certificate. The conference only provides lunch on the day of the meeting. Please pay for your own travel expenses such as transportation and accommodation.
