Welcome to the Ageing and Wellbeing Initiative, an international non-profit academic exchange platform dedicated to advancing the study of ageing and promoting wellbeing. This platform was supported by the Institute of Ageing Studies at Peking University (PKU-IAS), which has a longstanding commitment to research on ageing and wellbeing. This platform was directly established as a result of the momentum gained from the “PKU-UCL Strategic Partnership Fund – Ageing and Wellbeing Research Project” executed in partnership with the UCL Centre for Longitudinal Studies (UCL-CLS) in 2023, the Chinese lead for this collaborative project is Professor Gong Chen, who is also the director of the PKU-IAS. Our platform is primarily managed by student volunteers and part-time researchers from PKU-IAS. As an entirely virtual(non-physical), unofficial online community, we do not represent the official stance or views of PKU-IAS. All information shared will be clearly sourced, ensuring transparency and credibility.
The Ageing and Wellbeing Initiative focuses on several signature academic activities in collaboration (in a sense, we serve as a channel to disseminate information to a wider public audience) with our Institute of Ageing Studies at Peking University, which include:
- Ageing Research Data Resources and Development Sharing (Bilingual in English and Chinese): This activity aims to facilitate the exchange of data resources and development insights related to ageing research, promoting bilingual dissemination to reach a broader audience.
- Ageing Research News: Stay updated with the latest developments in the field of ageing research. This segment provides curated news and updates on significant findings, projects, and advancements in ageing studies worldwide.
- PKU Graduates Student Forum of Ageing and Health: An esteemed forum where doctoral students can present their research, engage in intellectual discussions, and receive feedback from peers and experts in the field of ageing and health.
- Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan Population Ageing Summer Camp: This summer camp is designed to foster a deeper understanding of population ageing issues across different regions of China. It offers a platform for young scholars and students to learn, collaborate, and develop innovative approaches to tackle the challenges of an ageing population.
We warmly welcome individuals and organizations globally who are interested in ageing and wellbeing to join our community. Your support is invaluable in helping us build and develop this platform further. Together, we can contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practices that improve the lives of older adults.
Thank you for your interest and support. For more information and to stay connected with our activities, please follow us on our website.
